The first load stays fast on the simple global map. NASA loads at low zoom. Sentinel-2 HD loads at higher zoom. Extreme World uses global Esri World Imagery at high zoom. Ultra World uses stable native Esri imagery with a low-detail safety backdrop. Sharp Detail adds crisp vector roads, buildings, POIs, and labels at close zoom while the satellite layer is kept below its ugly fake-overzoom range.
Performance
Local cache is the safe default. Sharp Detail is on by default: at close zoom it keeps imagery stable and adds crisp OpenFreeMap roads, building footprints, POIs, and labels. This gives a detailed map without unstable SuperRes/export tiles or fake blurry overzoom.
Live overlays
Radar and earthquakes are global. NWS alerts are U.S. only. Fires use NASA thermal anomaly imagery.

Type full addresses, business names, coordinates, or postal/postal codes worldwide. Québec/Canada postal codes use OSM/Nominatim first, then Zippopotam.us FSA fallback when exact OSM postal data is missing. Follow GPS keeps A as your live location and redraws the route when you move or miss the traced road. Route estimates use public OpenStreetMap/OSRM driving data; live traffic is not included in no-token mode.

The map tries the PHP proxy first. If your AI blocks server-side proxy calls, it falls back to a same-site browser call so the router still works.
